What is Camp David?
Camp David is a summer camp for primary and high schoolers that has been running for over 30 years as part of the ongoing ministry of St. David’s Anglican Church, Forestville. We stay at Deer Park and Chaldercot campsites on the Port Hacking River in the Royal National Park.
When is camp?
Junior Camp David (years 4-6 in 2017) is 6-9 January 2017
Senior Camp David (years 7-12 in 2017) is 4-9 January 2017
Who is leading the camp?
Both camp teams consist of Christian men and women from St. David’s who relate well to young people and care about their well-being. Leaders are trained in youth and children's ministry, Child Protection and Safe Ministry, and have undergone NSW police checks. There is generally a ratio of 4-5 campers to 1 leader. Camp David is overseen by our Assistant Minister, Scott Taylor. Senior Camp is overseen by Josh and Sarah Bishop. Junior Camp is overseen by Penny Stanbury.
What do we do at camp?
At camp we engage in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, hear the Bible taught, have small group discussions, and share meals together. Activities include swimming, water sliding, canoeing, ski-biscuiting, wakeboading (Senior Camp), sport, indoor and outdoor games, and activities in the bush around the campsite during the day and at night. There will also be plenty of free time to swim in the pool, read, play touch footy, basketball, cricket, fish or just relax and talk with friends.
How do we get to and from Camp?
We will be traveling to and from camp by bus. The cost is included in the camp fees. Further details will be included on the campers’ information sheet, which will be posted out to registered Campers closer to camp.
